Yesterday was a much nicer day and was perfect for shark diving. First you get geared up in a wet suit and then you get in the cage next to the boat. Then the boat captain brings the sharks next to the cage using bait attached to a long rope. Myself and another girl got the best shot of the day -- a Great White bit the cage directly in front of us. Had my hand been in the way, I would

be missing some fingers. We were about a foot and half from the sharks. For all you shark lovers out there, the place we went is Shark Alley, which is featured on the Discovery Channel

all the time. I mentioned
Brian McFarland, our captain before -- he's the most famous shark diver. Brian is a friend of my aunts, so he gave me a ride back to the farm. And, I even got to talk with him about his adventures over milkshakes. If you are ever in this area, I highly recommend you schedule a dive with him.
Today I spent some time at
Grootbos, anthoer lodge located about 20 mintues from Mosaic. The owner, a friend of Kathy and Breese, invited me to spend the afternoon there. I was taken on a discover walk where I learned about plants and birds surrounding the area. Then I had a fabulous lunch, napped by the pool and finally took a late afternoon safari to look at flowers. Grootbos is a five star lodge and I heard that Brad and Angelia have stayed there in the past. No sittings today, but word on the street is they just bought land about 45 minutes from here.
Here are a few more quick pictures....
This is an island we passed while shark diving -- covered with seals.
