Hello friends --
Thanks to a wonderful suggestion from my savvy friend Amanda, I've started a blog to keep everyone updated on my African adventure. I'm not sure what kind of Internet access I'll have once I get to the other side of the world, but I'll do my best to post updates.
Just to give you an idea of how far away I'll be, here's a glance at my itinerary:
fly from Nashville to DC -- travel time 2 hours
fly from DC to Johannesburg, SA -- travel time 15 hours
fly from Johannesburg to Cape Town -- travel time 2 hours
drive from Cape Town to Hermanus -- travel time 2 hours
Once in Hermanus, I will arrive at my destination, beautiful Mosaic Farm.
More later,
Kathryn

I woke up this morning thinking about you and the next 24 hours you'll be in the air, whew! I hope you have a fabulous trip, I'm sure you will. I'll miss you but hope to stay in contact through this handy little thing - great idea! ;-)
I'm sorry I wasn't available this weekend. I am so excited you get to go on such an amazing adventure. I'll be thinking of you!
Cold but not enough to snow so just rain and wind here in Nashvegas. Hope you're enjoying much nicer weather. Send us pictures from your dive with the great whites... you'll look just like a little seal in your wet-suit.
Who'm I gonna call at 5:05? So glad you made it O.K. I hope you get your luggage. OOH, some warm weather sounds good! It's cold and windy here. But ...you're going to miss Hammer's beach party sale! Oh, No! I'll probably pass on it too! Love you sweetie, Mom
Good thing you left when you did. Big snow in Chicago cancelled >500 flights at O"Hare yesterday. Moving into NY city. Many stranded.
Keep that in mind as you are lounging in the sun. Hope your luggage arrived. If not, you and Aunt Kathy will just have to plan more shopping. Know how you hate that! Am sure you are having a great time!
Love and miss you.
xxxooo, Dad
